Florida DBA renewal
A Florida fictitious name lasts five years and expires on December 31 of the fifth year. Renew it between July 1 and December 31 of that year for $50 using your 12-digit registration number. Expired names can't be renewed; you file a new registration.
When a Florida DBA expires
Registrations and renewals both last five years and expire on December 31 of the final year. The Division of Corporations sends a renewal notice ahead of time to the address or email it has on file, so keep that contact information current.

What you can and can't change
You can change the owner on the renewal application. You can't change the name. To change the name, don't renew: file a combined cancellation and re-registration instead, which costs $50.
Since July 1, 2017, a registration whose name contains a business entity ending (such as LLC or Inc.) can't simply be renewed unless an entity of that type, authorized in Florida, is listed as an owner. Otherwise it has to be cancelled and re-registered.
If your DBA already expired
An expired fictitious name can't be renewed or reinstated. You file a new registration, which means a new newspaper notice and the $50 registration fee. You'll get a new registration number.
Help with a renewal
If your registration has expired, our standard $249 filing service covers the new registration and notice. For a renewal of an active registration, email Team [at] FLDBA.com with your registration number.
